A RESOLUTION in support of the Louisville Fraternal Order of Police.

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth has long benefited from the selfless dedication of the many citizens who serve as peace officers, putting their lives at risk to protect the safety of each of us; and

WHEREAS, many of these officers have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving of their lives so that others may live in safety and security; and

WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police represents an organization of many of the Commonwealth's finest, and is an organization which both regularly gives back to the community through the support of community-related activities and supports those officers who regularly put their lives on the line in defense of the citizenry of the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, the Louisville Fraternal Order of Police and its members, having given so much of themselves to the Commonwealth, deserve this honorable body's recognition, appreciation, and support;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Section 1. The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky does hereby extend its grateful thanks for the service given to the Commonwealth by the members of the Louisville Fraternal Order of Police and offers its support to this distinguished organization.

Section 2. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Louisville Fraternal Order of Police, 644 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY 40209-1312.
